Pakistan has three of the world’s biggest and most spectacular mountain ranges, the Karakoram, Hindukush and Himalaya. These mountain ranges are also home to one of the highest and most beautiful collections of mountain peaks in the world. The mountain ranges include Hindu Kash, Hindu Raj, Karakoram, Himalayas, Safed Koh, Kirthar, Salt Range, and Suleiman.

Five out of the fourteen, peaks that are above 8000 in the world, including the second highest mountain peak – K-2 (8611m), Nanga Parbat, Gasherbrum 1, Gasherbrum 2, Broad Peak are in these mountain ranges in Pakistan. These mountain ranges also have more than 100 peaks which are above 7000 meters. These mountain ranges play a significant role in the tourism and the economy of Pakistan. Every year a lot of local and foreign tourist visits these high peaks and mountain ranges. The majority of people living in these mountain ranges area earn their living through these tourists.
